The Nazi party outlawed the ownership of cats by Jews. It was part of the Nuremberg Laws, but I can't seem to find any reason for it. Any guesses?

Cat ownership, or any other pet ownership, doesn't seem to be addressed in the Nuremberg Laws:

I'm sure the Nazis imposed WAY more restrictions on the Jews ("non Aryans") than the Nuremberg Laws. Many of which were probably designed simply to harass and make life as difficult as possible in Germany, and Occupied Europe.

I'd also venture to guess that many laws were designed only as an excuse to round people up and force them into labor camps.....

my best guess? because they thought jews were involved in sorcery and since cats are suspected to be 'familiars', ie. assistants in magical things, they forbade them from having cats. i would not be surprised at all if that was the reason. for example, non-jewish men who fell in love with jewish women often blamed them of putting a spell on them--and they were quite serious.
