Hamilton was a Federalist. All of the choices listed were fellow Federalists (or at least like-minded fellows), save one: Thomas Jefferson.

Hamilton favored moving the U.S. in the direction of a British-style, manufacturing-based economy and wanted the government to take an active role in regulating the economy. He therefore interpreted the Constitution loosely and favored granting the federal government all powers "necessary and proper" to do the job. Jefferson, however, admired the nation's yeoman farmers, whom he regarded as the backbone of American democracy, and strongly opposed industrialization. He also interpreted the Constitution strictly, believing that the states, not the federal government, should have the lion's share of power.
