Just because you don't know anyone personally that has not died from smoking doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. They have just been lucky. I know several people that have had problems such as lung cancer, Emphysema, mouth cancer, etc because they were smokers, or lived with smokers. My mom also smoked while pregnant with all 4 of us kids and we have ADD, and one of my sisters has severe Asthma. It's not worth the risk to children.

My grandfather died from emphyzema and lung cancer due to smoke. He lived into his 60s.

A friend of mine died from a pulmonary embolism which was caused from a combination of smoking and lack of exercise. He was in his 40s.

I see a lot of people in my job dying from diseases brought on soley, or in part, by smoking.

Just because you don't know of anyone who has suffered the consequences doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
