I am grateful they let the prisoners go. The prisoners spoke with the president and they thanked him for the good treatment they received. I have heard the president in interviews. He is calm respectful and seems reasonable. However I have also heard of atrocities done to women in Iran for protesting. Iran hosted the Holocaust deniers conference. They were ones who captured the soldiers in the first place. The president also said Israel is a cancer. Plus they support Hezbollah. I am so torn. What I want is for America to be able to say is, sorry for any differences we have had, lets work together to make the world a better place. I'm tired of the political rhetoric going back and forth and the propaganda on both sides. But at the same time, I want to be able to call evil when I see it. It should not be tolerated, but evil occurs in our country too. How can I make a decision when I am getting mixed messages. I don't feel like I can fully trust the US gov to tell me what evil is.

I just realize that I may be being fed the same kind of crap as the protesters who chant death to America. All they know is what they are told about America. I do see evil acts being done Iran. Don't get me wrong. But I have no misconceptions that somehow we are the "good" guys. America is by no means infallible and constantly messes with other countries for our own "interests". I want us to be the good guys. I just wish that I knew for a fact that I was getting unbiased information and not just propaganda used to whip up public support so we can continue to pursue our "interests".

Good for you for starting to question the status quo.

A piece of advice: Take anything ANY politician says with a pinch of salt.

Also, I have lived in many countries, and one thing is clear:
All 'normal' people (whatever their religion or beliefs) want the same things.
A good education for their kids.
A living wage.
A comfortable place to live.
A full stomach at least once a day.

Unfortunately, our leaders don't share these desires.

We must realize that the Iranian president does have some claims to what he says, in the 50's we established an overthrow of the government there (because of oil) and installed the terrible leader the Shah, the Iranians fought back in the late 70's with the hostages, and now they are starting to develop their nation somewhat. We have tried to keep every Arab nation down that didn't agree with our forced policy on Israel. I'm not anti-semitic, but I do believe that the Israelis have tried to rule the region with an iron fist and when another country tries to strike back at them they say "oh were poor jews, why does all the bad stuff happen to us?" They use the sympathy we gave them after the Holocaust to pay for their brutal incursions into Syria, Lebanon (recently), and Jordan. The Palestinian people and the Iranian prez. have a point when they say that the Palestinians and the Arabs didn't gas any Jews, so why should they give up land? The Iranian president isn't going to be shown in a good light in our media, since we seem to be gearing up for a war with them, they are a people who believe in peace, in an Time Magazine interview the Iranian president said that nukes were useless and they were to "final", if only we knew this in the 40s and 50s. And to say that they are evil and stupid, and we should just kill them, we must realize that they are people too, they have families and loved ones who are just as scared as we are.....

It's very easy for those who'll never fight the war to be its best supporters

Give Peace a Chance

Why should anyone has to tell you anything - with all the world-wide access over the Internet you can get all the information from a variety of credible sources. And this will help you to see more clearly before deciding.

I am still waiting to hear from the soldiers in a press release back home where they are safe and will be able to disclose what really happened. It's a little premature to make any decisions on it yet anyways.

Just BELIEVE what the president of Iran has said.

He has stated that when Iran has a nuclear weapon they WILL use it to destroy Israel.

Israel is just the beginning. Next target will be the West.

He said it, He means it, He'll do it if we don't stop him first.

I want to get along with all the people of this earth, it is a Christian way of thought; but there are those who only want to KILL US ALL. They are religious fanatics who BELIEVE it is their duty and destiny to do so.

Are you serious? You're joking right? Your feelings are really being torn by something like the Iranian government? Have you ever actually been outside, had a girl, or a dream? You're not serious are you?
