....,radical Musilm groups who plot against us, or even just people who talk bad about my country.

I was cool with Afganistan, but...

there's no way in Hell that I'm going to support building a school or a hospital in Iraq...

If you want to blow them up and leave, fine, but for God sake, don't build them a better school or hospital, or factory than the one down the road from me here in the US.

Does that make me a Democrat or a Republican

...and they don't like you too.

An Idiocrap. Why else wouldn't you want the greater good? We really don't know the truth of what's going on. We are NOT THERE. We only think we know what they are "leaking" to us, more like"feeding" us, knowing it is going to make us feel like you do. Don't buy into it. Keep an open mind. Manipulation is veiled so well, we don't even recognize it as we bite into it and drink it in, it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth? Redirect your passion toward something positive. Something here at home where we do live. Fight to keep a library open in your home town or to keep the hours it is open from being cut. Fight to get better school programs implemented in our own schools. Put your effort where it counts. Write to those "Representing" us in Congress and the House. Sway others to see your views where it counts, here in our country. Forget that mess Bush is using to draw our attention away from where it should be. You sound like the kind of person I would want as homeland security. We need to rebuild the wasteland Bush is leaving our Nation in. Good luck, Brother.

Neither. What it means is that you probably don't understand sociology (this is not meant to be rude, just a statement.)

Groups, such as terrorists, who have limited economic opportunity, access to jobs, or basic human care are more likely to engage in violence than groups who do have access to such things. This is just as true of poor neighborhoods in the midwest as it is of poor countries in the Middle East.

The problem is that it is largely the fault of prior political missteps (made largely in the Reagan administration, FWIW) that the Middle East has access to larger scale weapons than an Uzi or a shotgun that the dealer on the south side has. We showed them how to use bombs. In addition, what few attempts countries in the middle east have made at peaceful negotiation have been either ignored, or met with violence.

This, combined with a religious atmosphere that rewards political acts of violence with immediate access to heaven, creates a group that kills because it has nothing better to do, and no better way of getting attention. If they had what they needed (hospitals) and a way of getting what they wanted (education to get better jobs, and places to have jobs, like factories,) they would be far less likely to blow people up in order to get attention.

You are smarter than a Democrat & a Republican.

I really feel that all Mosque should be closed down, since this is where they do most of their plotting and a place to store their weapons. We have built schools, clinic's in Afganistan and they blew them up!

It doesn't make you either. It makes you someone who realizes what a waste of time the Iraq project has been.

If you want to keep "staying the course," support Bush, the Republicans, and the escalation. If you want out of Iraq, support the Democrats who just passed withdrawal from Iraq legislation.

Damn right buddy! Screw um,we have our own problems to deal with in every city in American there's a slum that could use OUR us TAX $ on something more important then Iraq. When we fix our own social issues we should try to help others. By the way? Whats up with New Orleans we fix the tourist spots and leave everything else destroyed. Hows this lets pull our of Iraq and try to help AMERICA 1st!

I hate them as well.
We're wasting time reconstructing Iraq, a better tactic would be to destroy everything we can't take with us, pull out and let the idiots fight each other.
The Shias and Sunnis are just like the stupid Irish in 1922, they'll be killing each other for years to come.

If we don't build them hospitals and schools then Iran or the Taliban will. They will teach the kids too but that's long term thinking that you don't seem to understand.
