Actually they are never "in heat". The female ovulates with the act of breeding. So, unless she has a male with her, she will not "be in heat".
A female rabbit reaches puberty around 3-5 months and can become pregnant as soon as she does. A male rabbit reaches puberty around 4-6 months and can impregnate a female as soon as he does. A female rabbit can become pregnant the *very same day* she gives birth.
All it takes is a little lovin'.

Pretty much...except when they're pregnant, of course. A female rabbit can get pregnant on the same day she gives birth. Crazy.

I know that they can get pregnant 3 days after giving birth.

NO! But it may seem like it. Their cycles are much more frequent then some other animals I could mention-including humans.
