In reality getting the wind knocked out of you sucks hard....well you suck hard, as you gasp for breath cause the air gets sucked out of your lungs. It hurts and is rather distressing for a few seconds. Dont try it. Its almost as bad as jamming your stick into the boards and yourself....even worse is when that happens just in the right spot and you get winded at the same time. Ouch.
