I'm an American undergrad student and was considering going to the UK to get a Masters of Law instead of going to law school here in the US. After having done a little research, I've found that the average salary for an entry level solicitor in the UK is about 25,000 pounds. My question is what kind of life style will that translate to in the UK.

For an entry level salary, it is quite good. It is about the same (just under) what a teacher earns here in the UK, and the lifestyle you have will be fairly average... think of it as middle-class. You will probably not have the classiest car... just average... and you will live in a fairly large flat / or medium (2-3bed) house. The lifestyle is OK, if you don't have expensive tastes for things like cars, clothes, etc.
Hope that helps.

The thing that you have to realize is that the better the law school you go to, the more money you can make. Someone graduating from Yale Law will make a lot more than someone getting a law degree at Cleveland State.

The same things holds in the UK. If you can get a degree in law from Cambridge or Oxford, then you will do much better thatn the 25K pounds that you mention. If you go to some crap school in South London, you may make less.

The other thing to consider is that you don't have to work as a solicitor. Many people with law degrees work for corporations handling contracts, etc.

If you have put such a substantial amount of money (or any money for that matter) into a property that does not have your name on you must draw up agreement saying that in the invent of her death you get that money back - a will basically. If not then you should have some sort of legal agreement anyway in case you break up, etc or there are children to be considered. Basically you should both be drawing up wills in case of any unfortunate eventuality - it will cover all bases and you'll all know where you stand. If for whatever reason it seems that you may not get the money back then make sure that there if some sort of life assurance in place and the will reiterates that.

The 25,000 pounds annually may not support you depending on the cost of living in the UK.

Its relative, that is, it depends with the standard of life you would like to live.
example: expect a smaller bachelor (bedsit/studio) apartment that costs you 150GBP (300USD) per week compared to one in USA.
