Planetary weather patterns are extremely complex and are influenced by many factors, some of which include geography, the composition of the atmosphere, the sun, etc. There are hundreds of things that could cause the average temperature of a planet to rise or fall. The fact that the temperature of mars is increasing does not prove or disprove that global warming on earth is caused by man.

This just confirms the fact that the sun is a very slow variable star. There have been periods in the Earth's history of ice ages & melt downs, and obviously at least *some* of that is attributed to the slight variations of the sun.

The fact that two planets are heating up (and, possibly 3, if the data from Venus is correct) - leads me to believe that the sun is at least partially responsible for the current warm-up.

Each planet has a life cycle, and meteorological events are part of that life cycle. It's an interesting discovery, but in the grand scheme of things, it's only a slight temperature shift over a 20-year period. The weather inevitably fluctuates on planets this close to the sun, due to environmental factors; or, as in the case of the Earth, possibly due to mankind's infuence of the environment.

Mars is already a dead planet and global warming would probably have only less impact on mars.

It is true. Check this out:

Clearly there is a lot we don't know or understand about global climate science.

My thoughts are it's a demonstartion that...

...if we think we have it all figured out here on Earth, and thus should abide by the Kyoto protocols-which would inflict severe pain on our economy?

We are deluding ourselves.
And thank GOD Mr. Bush did NOT sign it.
