It's a bit complicated. When they first started the Walk of Fame, they put in hundreds of classic stars along the sidewalks, all at one time. But the very first celeb to get their star in person (that is, after the mass installation, when a celeb showed up for an individual star-unveiling ceremony) was actress Joanne Woodward (wife of Paul Newman).

Depends on when they first started it...I would guess maybe someone like George Burns, Bob Hope, James Cagney, Will Rogers, possibly Judy Garland...Maybe Fred Estaire or Gene Kelly...OK...So, apparently its Joanne Woodward...There were bigger stars than her
