it's been awhile since I worked on a GM, but if the timing chain broke, it would not turn the cam sensor sending the signal to fire the coil pack.

The coils fire from a crankshaft sensor. Why do you think you have a broken timing chain? I've been around cars for 35+years and have never seen a timing chain that has broke.

The ignition system gets it's signal from the crankshaft position sensor.
In theory, the coils could still fire while cranking with a broken timing chain.

Don't believe the cam has anything to do with coil pack it has to do with timing coil pack produces electricity to fire plugs the cam turns the distributor timing the coil gets it's power from the battery

The ticking might desire to be the spark from style a million twine going the place that's going to possibly no longer bypass. it would desire to be shorting to the pinnacle whilst that's plugged in, yet going interior the direction of the plug once you have it out. If the compression examine replaced into reliable, that's in all probability no longer a valve project.
