I graduated with a girl named, shyjuanski

I saw the name Vajilla in a baby name book aside from the fact that it sound like vagina it means china set in spanish.

I've also been noticing that these so called baby name books are just kinda putting random words from different languages and making pass as real names. Not only have I found Vajilla
I've found Vaquero: Spanish for cowboy
Incandilata: Italian for she's burning.
Transito: yep, transit as in going somewhere.
Primitivo: primitive.
Alta: tall (female).

oh, I met this lady who wanted to name her son
Shethed, she pronounced it sheh-tehd, of course vital records told her she had to change the name because it sounds
like sh*thead and that's child abuse, she contested but had to change the name at the end.
finally I met this one little girl in foster care that her mother named her Gonoria, she went by niki (her middle name btw).

I met a guy named Yosef Electro Cuxon, like electrocution at a seminar.

I've never heard of any ridiculous names because the parent had to name their child that for a reason.

Besides, isn't that kind of mean, thinking names are ridiculous? What if your name was Tierza Joy? Then you wouldn't be laughing, would you?

For the one who said a couple in Sweden named their child Metallica, So did a friend of my husbands. They call him Matt. The father was a tattoo artist in Lubbock that killed himself on New Years Eve 2002 driving 120 mph into a light pole. I have met a Burly (and he was a Jr.) his wife is Elav (El-ah-vee) My husband knew twins Lighning and Thunder. There is a boy in my kids class Major and Colen (pronounced like Colon.) Another Casen. Another name I think is really weird but for some reason a lot of people like is Piper- like Peter Piper- who would want that for a name?

I am a sonographer ...and let me just sat that I have seen and heard some doozies .

My worst though ( please forgive me , but I need to write it out for you to see just how bad it actually was) ...

and this is NOT made up:

S-H-I-T-H-E-A-D
(pronounced Shi-tay-ed , as I would later learn)

Now, how on earth do you go out to the waiting room with THAT name on the request , no IDEA how it's ACTUALLY pronounced , and call the patient back ? I just went with " Ms. so-and-so" ....saved myself a world of hurt.

~Ej

Also, My grandmother had a friend that used to be around when we were kids who we called " Aunt Ima" ....I learned later that her actual name was " Ima Horreh" . The only consolation being that it was a married name . (At least her parents weren't THAT cruel!)

I think if you just hang out here and read a while, you'll have seen the worst of the worst. It's like the new moms are hanging out all day dreaming of acronyms or some silly nonsense! It's just horrifying!
