I just did a quick search on Indeed.com, using the term "particle phyiscs" (with the quotes) which is not a job title, so there are probably better searches - I just don't know what they are. Indeed found 99 jobs related to "particle physics."

The employers were interesting:

* Fermilab - 41 jobs
* Paul Scherrer Institute - 23 jobs
* Cornell University - 9 jobs
* Stanford Linear Accelerator
* more

It also showed up these job sites -
* PhysicsToday.org - http://careers.physicstoday.org/search.cfm
* ScienceCareers - from Science Magazine
http://sciencecareers.sciencemag.org/

So, while it doesn't look particularly easy or hard, it does look like there are jobs out there. Poke around and see what you think.

Good luck!

I wouldn't call it easy, since there aren't many, and the education requirements are very high. But they do exist. Keep going. If it continues to interest you, and you work at it and become good at it, you'll find a way to earn a living at it. If not, you'll find something else along the way, and the preparation won't be wasted.
