My sister at 35 (HATED her job in marketing) up and quit and went to school to be a pastry chef. She graduated and now works in San Francisco. She has always loved baking and now she is making a living at it. My Mother got her undergraduate degree at 60! - she never finished because she got married, had kids, etc. It is NEVER too late to change your life or the direction you take. My suggestion is you stop watching the world go by and start writing things down you enjoy doing and see if you can make a living doing it. You know in your heart what would make you happy. I hate to quote Oprah here, but she says it best "What would you do if you were not afraid?" Step up, step out and go forth!! Good luck.

Are you interested in landscaping? I don't know where you live but you could do that. Heck, if you have a truck & some tools you're in business. I know tons of old ladies that PAY well for someone to trim the weeds & mow the lawn-my mother's one. She's got the largest lawn on the block & she doesn't mow it. In the winter you can shovel walkways. I know what you mean I feel the same way. I don't mind the type of work I do but the SOB's are killing me. I know I'm going to wind up dropping over dead-MANY people working here have done that. It's a sick place.

Are you the type of person that would consider having your own business?

If so, my husband and I have an online/offline retail franchise that might work for you. I can't give you details here since it's against the rules of this site but send me an email or check out my profile if you'd like more information.

Find a job that keeps you outside. When you are not happy with something, change your situation. However, when you get your outdoor job and get burned in the scorching summer heat or get frostbite from the cold below zero winters, don't complain about your outdoor job. Be careful what you wish for and choose wisely.
