We have had our swimming pool for a couple of years, and it works great, but, this year it seems to be oddly blue. Infact, it's so blue that the shallow end looks foggy, and you can only see about to the half way mark before its unreconizable. Is this because we put too much of something in it? Or maybe that it will just take time for the blue to clear out?

It's probably just too much chlorine. Let some of it filter out before you go swimming in it.

Or, it could just be too cold from the weather.

Get one of those pool water testing kits.

Is the water really blue - best way to check is to just get a clean jar and take some water out. The blue may be just the color of the plaster but this should not bleed into pool. If the water is not blue but just cloudy, likely just chemical imbalance - bring sample to pool store for free testing.
If the water is really blue in the jar sample, something else wierd. I agree with earlier comment that someone may have put coloring in it? Good luck.

Besides that pools are usually painted blue?
Elements in the periodic table have chemical stains - they have colors, although some are neutral (clear). The chemicals mix and make color.

That's the best I can do with the information you've given me. It's possible the chemicals are dissolving the blue at the bottom, did you use new chemicals this year? Or that someone poured ink into your pool like in that movie with the kid who got his script stolen by a movie producer. Piss anyone off lately?

im pretty sure that there is too much chlorine or whatever in it. i don't think it'd be smart to swim in it real often till you get that taken care of.
