Out of obligation. If they were raised to go only on Easter, and possibly Christmas, that is why. Or, if they were raised to go to church more often then that, they may just do it because more emphasis was placed on those days when they were growing up. Easter is to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Also, for girls, and somewhat for guys, the new Easter outfits also meant the beginning of spring, and new clothes. "dress up" time. I hope this helps answer your question. And, by the way, there are people in this world that go to church not just on Easter and Christmas, but most if not every Sunday. Take care.

Some people, including myself, only get to church on a holiday like Christmas or Easter because we feel bad about not going to church like we should. Each of those holidays are very important in the life of Jesus and I feel like I especially need to get to church to celebrate it-I feel a pull to get me there at those times-does that make sense? I hope that helps you to understand a little better why we do it.

Holy Week (the week before Easter) is the most important week in the Cathlic faith. This is the week that Jesus saved us from all of our sins and delivered us to hevan. On Good Friday Jesus excepted his cross and died for us. 3 days later (Easter) Jesus rose from the dead in fulfilment of the scriptures. To miss Easter Sunday if your Cathlic is like missing the Super Bowl when your a football fan.You just can't.

I guess people believe in the crucification of Jesus and that he resurrected.
But they don't understand that HE needs to be active in their lives throughout the year.
At least they want to recognize Him at all. Seems people are forgetting about the importance of faith more and more. Especially in the US.
It's a cultural thing for many. Why do 90% of Americans say they are Christians, but only 20% attend church?

Because it is one of the special day, a regular trend for the believers. But am suppose every believers need to attend the Church in a regular basis instead for a better spiritual growth.

Same thing with why some people only go on Christmas, because they feel that they can say they are Christians because they have gone to Church on the most important holidays pertaining to Christ.

I don't know. Seems like you should go every week if you claim any kind of religion. Easter and Christmas attenders aren't fooling anyone. You can't only recognize God 2 days a year.

a lot of people say it's because they're hypocrites or whatever, but maybe they don't regularly go because they were not brought up that way, and feel like they should go on easter and christmas...
