'Little Red Riding Hood' IS her name, even if it's very long. It's a descriptive name, like 'Snowwhite', 'Sleeping Beauty', 'Sitting Bull' or 'Dances With Wolves' . The reason it's four words instead of just one, is because it's translated from the german name, 'Rotkäppchen'. In german, words can be assembled into one word (compounded) more easily. Most fairy tale names in german are one word, so they seem more like a normal name - just like 'Snowwhite' in English.
Explanation of the word Rotkäppchen: Rot = red , Kappe = (riding) hood, and Käppchen is the diminutive. So it's like Red-Hoodlet. Which sounds awful, so it's become Little Red Riding Hood. Why german? The fairytale itself may have existed also in England, but this one, like many others, has primarily survived through the works of the Grimm brothers.
