Just curious - is the doctor you're referring to an OB/Gyn, or just a family doctor/internal medicine specialist?

If he/she is NOT an OB/Gyn, you need to see one.

You could be pregnant, might have miscarried, could have an ectopic pregnancy (which can be life-threatening or have long-term repercussions on your ability to conceive in the future), or could have a host of other non-pregnancy issues. You need to know what's going on, so I recommend:

1. Ask your doctor exactly what he means, and
2. See an OB/Gyn if you haven't already.

Good luck!

If you have missed 2 periods and there was a "line" on the pregnancy test...well, I would think you are either pregnant or having some kind of problem that needs to be taken care of.

Take a home pregnancy test. If it shows as positive, then you are probably pregnant. If not, then there may be a problem.

Either way, go back to your doctor until he can give you a satisfactory answer. Perhaps even go to another doctor for a second opinion.

hey. I am going through the exact same thing as you. I have taken 5 tests... all negative and my last period wasin feb. I have a doctors appt. But instead o them doing a urine test, they r going to do a blood test. That is a definite way to find out. If you dont want to wait for an appt you can always go to labcare. they will check you without an appt. You should have one in your area. Good luck

1 line means not pregnant. You can always get a second opinion from a different Doctor that specializes in gynocological problems. Some women have weird menstral cycles. I know a friend who got one period once a year, and she wasn't on birth control. I'd see another Doctor to see what's going on. Good luck!

Because your body still has the pregnancy hormones from your daughter the pregnancy test will give a false reading. Your hormones should even out after a month or so but I would still consult your gyno or a nurse if it's been longer than that. Going to the doctor is always the safe thing to do.

Maybe you could call your doctor and have them explain your results to you. Perhaps the line was a control line? Take a test at home and see what you get. If not, make an appointment to see your doc to get checked out. Best of luck.

Your body might me screwed up. Sometimes women will miss their periods for a few months and then all of a sudden everything is ok. Otherwise they might have test. I would talk it over with your doctor. You could have had a miscarrage. It happend to me. they were telling me I was not pregnant but the home test were saying I was. My body was just not back to normal after wards for a few months.

Take a test or two at home yourself and if those come up negative then go back to your doctor for an exam to see why you aren't getting your period.

The one line was a control line. Just means that the test was working.

if you believe your pregnant go to your local laboratory and have a blood test done it cost around 20.00 dollars it is very cheap and they are very accurate also you don't need your doctor to order the test you just go to the lab and tell them you want a blood test done to check for pregnancy if it is positive they will give you a confirmation letter good luck
