Recently I posted an answer to a question that gave the source of the Have-Nots population of the U.S. Also I pointed out that the Rich British subjects of the American Colonies were the creators of the Decalaration and the Constitution for their own benefit. The have-nots were dupted into commiting suicide to protect the assets of those Rich Rebels. Nothing has changed. The NCLB program was created by the HAVES to educate the offspring of the Have-nots for the same purpose To produce and protect the assets of the Haves. Namely, to be enabled to function within the confines of The Military/Industrial complex; This is all accomplished minus any shred of ability to critically Think. Removed from today's curriculum is the wherewithal to question or compare what was good government, to what is being asked of our youth to adhere to today. With Gov. in the Education business, the product can only be Pro-Government. IMO, this is what's wrong with the NCLB program.

lol, as I'm sure you know.. those that are a product of the NCLB system didn't understand what you wrote :) some more fun facts for you.. in Texas .. in the original pilot.. they only took the stats for the top 50% of the classes... when you use the entire population sample rather than half.. the results show just how devastating the program actually is.. also Bush's brother was the president of the company that got the contract to sell the books to schools in the NCLB program when it was implemented :)

Community School Health and the School of the 21st Century programs are much better programs that actually work.

The short verion, is that the NCLB act doesn't solve the problem. The act authorizes students who attend schools that don't meet certain requirements to transfer to better schools.

The problem with this is that sending below average students to better schools isn't a garantee that they will perofrm better. In short the act is passing the buck.

A better solution would be to find out why certain schools aren't meeting certain standards, and fix the problem. There are more complex issues here, but as I said this is the short version (IMO).

we need to rejuvenate these public schools in the inner city, they are a joke, sending poor children to rich schools is not the answer. ALL schools need an update, more better trained teachers who would rather teach than test their brains out. kids need more education. my cousin came to America to live and in the third grade, she was already taught Chemistry. what do student in America learn in third grade? how to tie their show and then they get tested for it. its madness. Americans need to be the top competitior. its absolutley insulting
