For me it took 7 months for my cycle to become regular after getting off the pill. I got pregnant the very first month that I had a regular cycle. My cycle was 2-14 days late the first 6 months after being on the pill, causing me to spend a lot of money on negative pregnancy tests. However, I know of a few people who got pregnant the very first month. So, it really just depends. Relax and it will happen.

And when it does, have your partner or mom get you a Pregnancy Care Package from www.peanutlittle.com. It is an amazing gift to receive!

Good luck!!!

The newer pills are such a low dose that they don't normally affect fertility after the first month. But it's possible that your hormone levels were naturally a bit high or low. If you have still have "no joy" (btw that's cute!) by the time you have been trying for 6 months tell your doctor. They will usually order up some blood work and be able to tell you right away if that is what's causing your delay. If you like to read, try "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Wexler. She really explains a lot about our bodies and I'm positive you would find it helpful.
Best of luck to you!

It can take up to/over a year to conceive after being on birth control. It all depends on your body and how long it takes to re-regulate itself. It could take some time. The pill is already out of your system what's going on right now is your body is confused. It was getting hormones from the pill and now it's trying to figure out how to get back to normal and do what it needs to do without the hormones. Make it's own again regularly as well. Don't worry that there is something wrong it just might take a while.

i was on the pill for 13 years, got off of it and became pregnant within the first month.

They say to use protection for around a month so that the pills can get out of your system, because it could cause birth defects in the baby.

Well I have heard it can take months to years... I don't know of any specific answer... I personally was off it for a week (my period week).I was on the pill for 8+years before that.
last pill-period-two days after period ended I was pregnant.
So as it goes everyone is different, every pregnancy is different and so on.... just keep trying, don't stress!!! relax and enjoy your "alone time" with your partner. The more you stress the more it can hinder your chances! Stress does some strange things to people!!!!!
Good luck!

It's out of your system in about a week. I got pregnant the first month off the pill. Twice. I've read that the hormones can hang around longer than that, but I haven't had a chance to test it. lol.

80% of Woman become pregant within One year of trying!
If you do not become pregnant you should go see a doctor.
You can also chart your temperature each morning to see if you are ovulating, if you know you aren't you can start to go to a doctor sooner, for better succes!!

I was on the Pill for almos a year. And I wasn't supposed to get pregnant the first cycle, so we used other Protection.
But the next cycle when we tryed, we had succes right aways. So it can happen whenever the time is right for you!
The Pill should be out completely after your first regular cycle!

best of luckl

Wanting to get pregnant in a specific timeframe is not always realistic. See what happens in a year, and be patient. Wigging out every thime you get your period won't help anything, and turnng your sex life into a "gotta do it now" thing kind of takes some of the fun out of it. Relax..it will happen. Enjoy the journey...good luck.
