Have no idea. It tends to be a junior high locker room type of thing, has gone on for generations, but now has migrated to the Internet and this type of forum where you can ask anonymously. Wasn't it a scene in "Sixteen Candles" where the boys actually lined up in front of a table where one boy held out a ruler? It seems like there was prize money involved. I also read where guys have held contests involving masturbating (volume and distance!). It's just male competitiveness, I guess, although here it seems more to involve fear of inadequacy. I have no idea where that's coming from, since gals don't care about size nearly as much as guys do!

Proabably because they want to know from (women) if there size and shape are what they should be... I think they want some assurance, to basically be with the crowd instead of out there all alone...
I think it's interesting because I'm sure my husband would ask some of those questions too...
