There are so many topics on Sydney so I wont elaborate other than its a fantastc city to live in & its not overcrowded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In response to "gorgeous's" comment that we walk around the city in bikini's & thongs carrying a surfboard...... yeah right love, we also jump on a kangaroo's back to get to work & have to hunt for our dinner.
I can't believe the crap that some people write.

Generally, Sydney is fairly clean, modern, has a pretty harbour, gorgeous beaches & every multinational facility you could possibly want whilst being laid back & friendly.

Aussies work hard, but they also know how to switch off & relax. We are sports mad & very proud of our country.

Hi iam an English born naturalised Australian i came here as a young girl with my parents. i love this country and would not live any where else. I have been back for a holiday to Britain in 1997 , and became naturalised after coming back to Australia. These days it is not easy to enter Australia too many people coming here now. You have to be under the age of 45 and with a working trade behind you with a good clean record . if you pass all this there is no reason why you cannot apply to emmigrate

On the average, according to the International Labor Organisation, Australians work a few hours less per year than Americans. In my personal opinion, Sydney is overcrowded but is probably relaxed in comparison to larger cities.

Australian way of like varies from beachcomber to "captain of commerce" who works 16 hours a day. So there is no "Australian way of life". Possibly on average the Australian family has two children, father works 40-44 hours per week, mother works 25+ hours per week, kids in school, older kids may have weekend job in retail. Take 4 weeks holidays a year, go to Gold Coast or some coastal region, once in a while take a look at the outback.

Kids do high school and go to university or technical college. Family has 1 or 2 cars, 2 TVs, fridge, all the rest like DVD and possibly still got a VCR. House is 3 bedroom, has a "ensuite" attached to the main bedroom containing a shower cubicle, toilet pedestal and washbasin. There is another full bathroom. If the kids are young the house, or at least one room is ankle deep in toys.

Rotary clothes line in back yard but a drier in the laundry. Electric or gas stove, two door refrigerator, microwave oven. Mother does most of the cooking and housework, father mows lawn, frequently does laundry and heavy cleaning, sometimes paints house, maintains cars etc.

Sydney is very laid back compared to the bigger cities, such as New York, London, Paris, etc. In the summer, you'd find the Aussies wearing thongs (slippers), bikini, shorts and tank tops, carrying surfboard or walking barefoot around the city as it is very close to a number of beaches.

Generally, the Aussies are professional in a laid back way in the workplace. They are very polite, and although they are hardworking, they are not so much into the rah-rah attitude that Americans have.
