No this is a Compaq Presario, and when this happened, I removed and replaced the AMD Sempron CPU.

seems such as you would be identifying to purchase a clean annoyingpersistent! It was once (no longer understanding how previous, or youthful your computing gadget is) that computing device annoying disks did no longer at once park their heads while close off. If thispersistent isn't spinning up, putting it interior the (it truly is one people techies maximum eldritch fixes, yet I swear it on occasion works) freezer for greater or less an hour will commonly get thepersistent spinning lower back so which you will replica needed archives in the previous thepersistent warms up lower back. the 1st subject you go with to do is administered a disk utility like Norton disk surgeon, or wddiag (if it truly is a Western electronicpersistent), or maxblast (if it truly is a Maxtorpersistent) to be certain no count if thepersistent is working at once or no longer. no count if it truly is a grasp boot checklist concern, on occasion working Fdisk/mbr will superb the priority. As an A+ computing device technician I even have seen this concern many circumstances. commonly if thepersistent isn't making a clicking sound you will be triumphant in convalescing the information.

First make sure your monitor cable is seated, and that the monitor is plugged in and turned on.

Next make sure someone didn't adjust the brightness on the monitor and turn it all the way down.

If nothing else works, you will need to open up the computer, and determine whether you have onboard video. If the monitor plug on the outside looks like it plugs directly into the mobo, then it is onboard video. If the video is dead (you might try another monitor in case it is the problem) then you will have to add a card to get video back. If it is a card already, you can try reseating it, or if there is onboard video AND a card, try pulling the card and plugging into the onboard.

Recently had a similar problem with my eMachine T1600. Hitting the power button would cause the disk and fans to spin but I had absolutely no output to the display, not even the usual BIOS information. After verifying that it wasn't a graphics card issue (tried with two extra cards I have, one AGP, the other PCI), I came to the conclusion that the motherboard was dead. Given the age of the system, I'm just going to wait for the tax return to build a new one.

W/O more information I couldn't tell you for sure, but it sounds like the computer is booting but you have no video. Check the obvious first and make sure your monitor is pluged in (both on the back of the monitor itself and at the back of your computer). Second check to make sure no pins on your monitor plug are bent or broken.

Also we need more info. Are you getting any beeps when you startup? Anything at all displaying on screen? Did you recently change or add any hardware?

Disconnect PC and monitor from power, check your power cables and restart it. If it won't work, check to see if your monitor is dead or alive! You can do that by connecting your monitor on another PC.

Good luck

You will have to give us more details.

What were you doing when this happened? Is this a fresh build? Did you change any hardware recently?
