I don't think it's that he thinks he's smarter. Follow the money, who has the most to lose if the war is ended. No bid contracts???? We have a lot of dirty people making decisions about our money, we are lucky. Iraqi citizens have a lot of dirty people making decisions about their lives and their country. Imagine trying to live in a war zone because you were attacked by a country that you never attacked. thoughts like those are why the US had a great interest in helping develop the Geneva conventions in the first place. Ask yourself if you believe that if anyone else had been elected pres after 9/11 would we be in Iraq? Afghanistan maybe, but Iraq?????

First of all, READ THE CONSTITUTION. Foreign policy is controlled exclusively by the Executive Branch.. Congress can only control the funding. If Congress really wanted to get out of Iraq, they could defund it and that would be the end. Recall Viet Nam??
As far as "the people" are concerned, they have no say. In case you don't know, the United States is a representative republic. It is not a democracy.
Who do you think it is that "don't get it"?

George Bush does not think he is smarter, he is only doing his job as under the constitution of America says the President has authority to do. The people have not spoken to the degree that you seem to advocate. Just because Democrats haave more members in Congress does not mean the people voted or spoke to change the office of the President of the United States or to make the Presidents job any different. Those questions were not on the election ballet as I remember.

He is a psychopath or dry drunk. He has his own motives, listens to only those who agree with him.
Congress is still playing by the rules, and calculating that if they impeach, they also have to make sure they get all the minions under him. Don't want a Cheney pres, would be even worse. (Even though he might actually be pres already)
Congress doesn't have enough votes to override Bush vetos. I'd say that our checks and balances form of gov not working out so well.

He got two terms as president of the United States of
America....have you or any member of congress
accomplished as much? And another sign of his being
smart...you're paying upwards of three dollars or more
per gallon of gasoline, aren't you? Remember Preident
Bush is aTexas oil man...when the presidency is over, how well off will he be with people like you and me buying his
gasoline? Bush taught Saddam how to put a contract out
on the first President Bush....didn't he? And Bin Ladin is
either dead or afraid to come out of his cave.... one or the
other, at least he has been out of the way for awhile!
YES, I'D SAY GEORGE BUSH IS SMARTER THAN
A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE...!

The people spoke in 2004, when we made him President. That puts him in a position to veto bills from Congress. If you check out the bill, the Dems are attaching pork barrel spending to these bills, and trying to give an exact date of withdrawal... what President would go for that except a weak ignorant one? Congress should not try to tell our military how to fight a war, and should keep their political poision arrows out of the game rather than risk the safety and security of our country for political gain.

On this issue, he is. Are you saying that congress and the people of the US are smarter than Bush? Ok, well, maybe they are. But again, on this issue, he's right. War is not a political game to be played for points, and that is what the Democrats are doing. How do you on one hand fund a war by mandating its defeat? It's counter-productive, why don't they Democrats just pass a bill mandating that the war is over and we lose because the vast majority of citizens want to lose?
This bill is not a resolution, it's a political ploy to please the American people. Don't be fooled by it. You aren't in Iraq, you aren't serving. You have nothing to worry about. Other people have already volunteered to do this.

Don't forget all the stuff congress does to appease the MINORITY of Americans and illegal immigrants. It's Bush's war. Let him handle it. If we lose, we lose face to the rest of the world. Support your countryman, idiot.
