In 1991 the US shot down an Iranian passenger plane over the Persian Gulf and then hushed it all up. To date they have never apologised for what was nothing more than an act of cowardice.

Ahmadinejad has today released 15 British soldiers for reasons of humanity.

Is the moral high ground shifting or was it always this way round?

Dick, what are you on my friend. It is public knowledge that the US shot down the passenger plane. It was not a secret, but what was a secret was that the US initially claimed that they thought it was a war plane and later the sailor who shot the missile stated that at the time of shooting the missile the US frigate was aware that it was not a war plane because the radar picked up the code of a passenger plane. I don't need to prove it - just search for it on Google or something....

Cappy what are you saying. when you don't know something don't write it down women can get on the plane. Women go on journey with plane more than men in Iran.
And suddenly all the Westerns are dying of the love of Israel because mmmm they support US or do they want US to back them up no one knows future tells everything. US always supported Iraq and this happened to it so we will see what US is going to do with Israel in Few Years time.

You might try that Google feature yourself.

The US shot down an Iranian Airbus A300 in 1988 - not 1991. The USS Vincennes tracked the plane (but never made visual contact) - miles off the normal course for civilian aircraft, and when the plane refused to alter course or respond, fired 2 missles at it, obliterating the plane and killing all aboard. President Reagan expressed regret for the loss of life and eventually, the US paid $60+ million to survivors.

This was never covered up - i remember watching coverage on the news at the time.

I don't remember the details, but I think we finally payed them a few million to "settle" the matter. Here it is: "In 1996, the United States and Iran reached "an agreement in full and final settlement of all disputes, differences, claims, counterclaims" relating to the incident at the International Court of Justice.[5] As part of the settlement, the United States agreed to pay $61.8 million in compensation for the Iranians killed. The United States did not admit responsibility or apologize to the Iranian government..."

It was never hushed up. We were in the region on high alert. The plane entered our airspace and was heading to the ship and was shot down. We could not get to the plane becuase it landed in Iranian waters, lo and behold all the bodies of the victims were bloated dead bodies none with any marks of that of an airline crash. Iran planned the whole thing, and according to intelligence the bodies were released from a submarine and floated to the surface. They were also men and women (women were not allowed to fly). Once again it was never hushed up.

A nation like Iran which is expert in suicide bombings is certainly not above using an airplane as a massive suicide bomb. Mmmmmm, sound familiar? A plane or two used as a guided missile. I wonder about that.

The plane ignored warnings. It was a valid response to shoot it down. There was no cover up. The US navy had no way of knowing whether it was a real commercial flight or a suicide bombing, a dry run for 911 as it turned out.

The Iranian tyranny has removed the word humanity from their dictionary. Only a dupe could believe anything they say.

I recall an incident like this in 1988, not 1991, at a time when Iran was actively hostile to the US. The airliner was mistaken for an enemy fighter. It was not a deliberate attack on civilians - why would the US do that? - and the US express regret and paid compensation to the families of the victims.

Wake up! This is a radical regime who has publicly said that it wanted to wipe Israel off the map. There biblical belief is if they wipe out Israel there prophecies will be fulfilled. And they won't stop at Israel. The amount of hatred in this country is growing from people like you...MARK MY WORDS, OUR COUNTRY AS A SUPER POWER ARE NUMBERED...Keep spreading the lies, there is more than enough idiots to believe them...

Iran leadership has been a joke for the past 50 years (Including the Shah). They used kids as suicide bombers in the war with Iraq, They murder Iranian citizens that disagree with them as well as murdering dissidents. They have billions in oil revenue, yet their population lives in squalor. They export terror wherever they can. They oppress their woman citizens.

Iran is about as low as you can get on the morality scale.

"Ahmadinejad has today released 15 British soldiers for reasons of humanity."

Surely you jest.

PS....prove the US shot down an Iranian passenger jet and the conspiracy to hush it up. Prove it.

EDIT: PROVE IT///PROVE THE CONSPIRACY TO HUSH IT UP

you don't really think america will admit when they're wrong?. hell no. they would need to start a 24/7 tv show and it would be years of apologies before they were done. they don't have the time. or the decency for that matter. i just hope Iran is more successful defending themselves better then Iraq did. that was an unjust war too.
