That's their way of promoting themselves. Once you know the name of the person who is rapping and you like the song or whatnot you will be willing to buy it. It's a tool that they use to sell records.

i was wondering that too. the rapper jay z did an intro on that new fall out boy cd and at the end he said fall out boy. i thought that was pretty dumb.

so ppl won't be like "who was it that did that one rap? u know the one with yada yadayda blah blah" and instead they'll just know it was that rapper that sang it because they said their name so much.
