Statistics indicate that 65-70%+ of women who married in America file for divorce?

indicating that American men must be a bunch of rapists abusive wifebeaters or cheaters. The number is espcially of concern considering the substantial population of America which is around 300 million. What can be done to better the quality of avaiabel to be husbands for American women ? Is marriage still an option for American women in the first place ? Should Americans look for husbands in foreign countries given the poor quality of American men the high divorce rates suggests ?

The divorce rate is somewhat over 50% out of all divorces 65-70 are initiated by women. So i would guess that about of 35 to 30% of all divorces are initiated by men.

In some American states up to 90% of divorces are initiated by women so someplaces (almost) all of the divorces are initiated by women.

Thats what I was talking about Wendy. Out of the 50-65% figure of divorces taking place 60-70% of all divorces or even more are intiated by women.

Wow eco are you suggesting American women take their hubbies to the cleaners for no good reason ?

Who gets the children is by far the most important component in deciding who files for divorce.. Family law now allows mothers to walk away from marriages at any time and take the children with them. Not only is this permitted, it is encouraged and rewarded with financial incentives (child support, alimony, larger portion of the gains of the couple, etc). Even more disturbing, in some cases, mothers are actually pressured by social service agencies into filing for a divorce that they don’t want. Many men who have married foreign brides have found that these brides become just as vindictive and hateful as the domestic brand when they become established in the US and find they can divorce and take the lion's share of the marriage with them.

Wow - jump to conclusions much? All this stat means is that the women is more likely to "file" for divorce. It does not mean anything else. Maybe the women wants out of the marriage because she fell in love with someone else. Maybe the women filed even though the divorce is amicable (someone has to file). There are plenty of good men in United States that are not abusive or cheaters or rapists.

Can you provide those statistics, please? My understanding is that 66% of DIVORCE CASES are initiated by women, not that 66% of ALL American women file for divorce.

EDIT-Okay, but you realize that's NOT what your opening question said, right? Your opening question implies that 66-70% of ALL women will or have filed for divorce. You added the last part AFTER I had posted. But still, a source is always good when statistics are discussed.

America in general has shifted from "Long term" ideals to "Short Term". Yes, Divorce is high. Look at other census information. 8% of all Americans will work for the same company their whole career. 40% of all Americans will switch religions 2-3 times in their lives.

Now, the government and corporations are outsourcing to places like "India", "China", and anywhere they can rob, rape, and corrupt a new society. Conveniently, they're robbing Americans of retirement money in doing so.

My opinion is that America's rejection of religion (any religion) added to a government, which switches authority (Pres) every four years ... we've lost the concept of "Long Term".

As for your question "Out sourcing Husbands" ... well, it's the men who outsource. They go to places like Viet Nam, Philippians, and Mexico and do what is illegal in the States. Some result in babies ... and guess what, it's the American woman who will go to Viet Nam, Philippians, and Mexico for babies (Angelina). So, we're rapping making babies, and then steeling the babies. Very, very sad.

Although, I admit, I've joked about finding a man named "Sven" from Russia so I could have a Russian Hockey player baby. This funny could never happen as Russia has a man shortage since 1940's (1.75 women to every man). Additionally, I saw the folly of my Dad's ways in getting a "mail order" spouse. Poor Daddy, how he suffered.

Please provide sources and reputatable statistics to back this statement up. I would also wonder what percentage of american men filed for divorce. Tell me what percentage of women and men in your own country file for divorce. Are you parents divorced and why is it you focus all of your time on marriage? Can you not find anyone. I can understand why you are single but don't take it out on the rest of humanity.

Oh I see you are guessing at these statistic, sorry Cassius guessing doesn't cut it. You can say anything and it doesn't prove jack unless you have some number from reliable research to back you up. Another one of your questions is a complete waste of space since it is just filled with guesses and lies no doubt.

A considerable percentage of women got married for the sake of money and they filed the divorce to get money from the millionaire or billionaire later on. So no wonder many more women got divorce compared with years ago. But 65-70% is a bit high , and you may want to double check the data.

The problem lies in the fact that you "straight" people are allowed to just go out and marry whoever you want, whenever you want. Alot of times this happens without having learned enough about someone to know if they are even compatible. Your statistics probably come from the fact that women are smart enough to leave relationships that aren't working, men will stay if they are getting a piece of ***, regardless of how miserable the situation is for both.

A foreigner is the OPPOSITE of a good husband. Men need to stop supporting each other in being wrong and stand up for what's right. And women need to stop being so demanding and expecting prince charming cuz he ain't real. Pick the guy you like early Saturday morning when the date's over.

I have pretty much given up trying to find a good woman here in America....I am going to start looking for miss right south of the border. At least down there, women know how to appreciate men.
