I feed him food during the day and he's good for about 4 to 5 hrs but at night he keeps waking up every 3 hrs for his bottle. I tried different formula's but no change and he won't take more than 6oz. any ideas??
thanks..

I don't think food is the issue, it has to do with his napping and how consistent you are being. My daughter is 8 Months and has never taken more that 6 oz, she rarely eats more than 4 and is sleeping through the night. There really should be no reason he is waking for a bottle, he is old enough to go 12 hours without eating.
I don't know what his other sleeping habits are like, but make sure his napping well and going to bed at a descent hour. Does he self soothe, or are you rocking him to sleep all the time? Make sure you are putting him down drowsy and not fully asleep. You should start weening him off of his overnight bottles. My pedi suggested 1 oz less every 2-3 nights. Others suggest watering down the formula.
It is a hard transition, but very important for you to teach him healthy sleep habits.

Have you tried cereal in his bottle. It will probably work.
It is also a pattern that he is used to. He expects you to wake up every 3 hours and give him that bottle. I know noone really want s to let there baby cry but maybe it woukld be okay for like 30 minutes. and eventulally he would get used to waiting until morning. But if he is not on cereal yet i would really recommend it make it pretty thick. Good luck

Every baby is different and has different schedules. But you might try different things when he wakes in the night, because sometimes he may not be hungry when he wakes, he may be gassy or just fussy. If he is gassy, you could try propping him on his side with a pillow, or rubbing his lower tummy to help his digestive system flow. You could try adding some cereal to his nighttime bottles, and although some people advise against it, you could try letting him cry it out a little. He'll learn some self-discipline with this technique, and if he continues to cry, you will know that he really needs something, and not just crying to listen to himself.

My youngest son nursed at night until he was at least 8 months. My pediatrician told me some babys just need to have that night feeding longer and not to worry about it.

Have you spoke to your pediatrician about this? It does seem that every three hours is a bit of the norm. I could be possible that he is just simply waking out and when he was younger you may have assumed he needed a bottle so feed him. He now may just be doing it out of habit. Try waiting a bit and see if he can get himself to go back to sleep with a bottle.

Wow, it truly is a lot for a 9 month previous. i could undertaking to assert at that factor he's probable not waking as much as eat because of the fact he's hungry, he probable in basic terms desires to convenience of sucking. Is there something you're able to do to calm him that would not contain feeding? Like giving him a pacifier or rubbing his lower back? What some white noise device? have you ever tried introducng a convenience merchandise that he can carry on an identical time as dozing (like a filled animal)? i think of if not something is working you in basic terms could desire to purpose to get him lower back to sleep without feeding him, it;s the only way you will get him used to dozing without waking up oftentimes for feeding (not asserting permit him cry, in basic terms walk him or convenience him in some way). yet I gotta say you may desire to have the staying power of a saint, after the 1st few wake united statesi could be going nutty!

I get his bottle ready at 8:30pm turn the lights off put on his favor show lay down and lay him down in front of him will a pillow in back of his head. give him his bottle and i rub my finger thur his head it works. he falls a sleep around 9 or 9;30 then i put him in his crib and give him his teddy . sometimes he makes noise like he crying but he goes back to sleep on his own. try it it might work

If he is healthy in size/weight/development, he is probably waking up for socialization. Then he eats just because you offer it. From the beginning, babies wake up for food and soicalizing. They need to know you are still there and will come when they need you. When he is comfortable and secure about you guys, he'll sleep longer.

My son just turned 8 months old and we are on his 5th night sleeping right through, it's not the formula, it's not solid food that'll help, it's just something that kinda clicks with the babies, and they'll sleep through the night when it's time. You just have to hang in there and wait it out,

Try adding cereal to his milk. He may feel full for a longer period of time.

or

It just may be a phase. My son always woke up every 3 to 4 hours regardless of what I fed him.
