I want to get my labret done, but I was wondering how much it hurts and how long it takes to heal, and whether I have to keep it in all the time because I swim. Thank you!

i have mine done & it didn`t hurt at all...the healing process varies from one person to the next, & facial piercings tend to close very quickly, sometimes within a matter of hours...this happened with my monroe, my jewelry came out while i was sleeping & within 3 hours the hole was closed!!! i would say u should talk to some reputable piercers & ask the professionals any questions u might have...this is the best way to find out everything u need to know!!!

Anytime you get a needle shoved through a flap of skin there's some pain to a degree. Mine didn't hurt too bad, but I have a high pain tolerance. It's gonna take a few weeks to heal and you should only take it out for a few minutes at a time to clean it at first, otherwise it'll close up.

That's gross! I automatically think "trashy" when I see anyone with piercings on their face. Think twice before you do that. When you get older, you might decide that you don't want it anymore and then you are stuck with a whole in your face.
