i said pop until one of my store managers in NY told me that was a type of drug...now call it soda.

It's "coke" in the south. Generic... everything's a coke, including Pepsi down here. You specify 'what kind' of coke you want, like, orange, Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, Mt. Dew, whatever. But it's all a coke.
