Okay. My fiance and I are trying to get pregant and ofcourse I want a girl. He is Italian and has a very Italian last name. I want our girls name to be Italian also. Annabella is a beautiful name and I fell in love with it. But... He has a relative that is famous with the name Annabella...Annabella Sciorra that is. Would people (his family) think its odd that I name my girl that. If so, can you think of any other names that are as pretty as that one?
Oh the struggles.

Okay, heres another thing, My fiance and this actress don't know eachother, matter of fact I don't know if she talks to anyone out of this side of the family or not...and I'm not naming my child after her presay........ I just like her name....

I think it's fine if you name your daughter Annabella, even if his relative has that same name. It's your baby, and the fact that someone else is named the name you'd like to give her really shouldn't stop you.
If someone says, "Oh just like annabella sciorra!" Say, "Yeah, she has a pretty name."
I also really like these Italian names:
Lucia
Giulia
Concetta
Adriana

Annabella is a beautiful name and remember that this is YOUR child so you are free to name her whatever you wish. I come from an italian/sicilian family and i have 3 male cousins named Rafaele and even more female cousins named Anna and Grazia. Italian families normally recycle names, at least where my family is from in Campania. The first born boy is traditionally named after the grandfather and the second after the father, and its pretty much the same with girls, but theres no set in stone rule punishable by death. Name her a name that you'll be able to say that you love and can say with pride =].

Since everyone is throwing out thier favorite names pitch in my favorites as well.

Ive always been partial to the names Antonella and Angelina. But Annabella is just as beautiful, the name even includes the Italian word for beautiful: "Bella"

Hope all goes well and im sure whatever you decide on will be awesome!

Ask yourself... would this fictional child be the first person that shared a name with someone famous? It's your baby (fictionally) and name it what you want. But there are lots of beautiful names. And the original Annabella? She might be flattered...

I dont think his family would think its odd....His aunt will probably be honored to have your child named after her. I think the name Annabella is a very beautiful name.

I think if you love that name, go with it! Annabella is a beautiful name. Isabella is gorgeous too! Or just Bella! You could do it this way: ANNA BELLA! And middle name could be ANNABELLA ROSA! Good luck!

If you love it, go with it. As others have said, many people share the same names as well known people- and people rational people realize they aren't all name sakes of that famous person.
And remember, you are only trying to get pregnant, you're not there yet...... your tastes can change in an instant and what appeals to you now may seem ludicris later. So don't sweat the small stuff (like what other people MAY think), and go with your heart.

I personally like Isabella. It has always been one of my favorites. I also knew a girl (from Alba, Italy) whose name is Chiara (it means "clear" in Italian), I always thought that was a pretty name. There are lots of beautiful Italian names for girls, but what if you have a boy? We, as Americans, tend to butcher the pronounciations of these names (like Clod-io instead of Cloud-io, and Al-burt-o instead of Al-bear-to), so choose carefully. I knew a beautiful boy with the longest eyelashes you have ever seen named Pierfranco. There was also Emanuelle (Ay-man-way-lay) that we called Lele (Lay-lay). Good luck!
