I have a page on my website dedicated to SENTIMENTAL activities at the baby shower. These are activities that your guests HAVE NOT played twenty times before. Great games that are in the spirit of celebrating baby and family!! I put a link below!!!

(And as a note....I am not a big fan of "don't say baby" game. When I go to a shower....I want to say baby. I want to say "little baby feet", "I can't wait to hold the baby", "how much is baby kicking?", and "baby, baby, baby!!". It's why we are there....I've never understood the point of not allowing people to say it?? Silly.

The Price is Right:
Lay out small baby items. Ask guests to guess the price of each item (my mom did it multiple choice style). Whomever has the most right guesses wins. When the game is over, the new items are given to the new mom.

Bingo
Make up blank BINGO sheets and copy enough for all the guests to have one (plus some extra). Each guest fills in her own card by writing a baby item in each square. As the mom-to-be opens her gifts, guests cover their cards (use crackers or candies). Every time someone makes a BINGO, stop and give her a prize.

Guess the food:
Take labels of of several jars of baby food and number each one. Write down the contents of each numbered jar. Guests may smell, taste or look at each jar and guess the contents.

Please don't wrap the poor woman's belly with toilet paper! Good luck and have fun!

do a baby word unscramble. Pick 20 or so words relating to baby and scramble all the letters up. The guest have to unscramble the letters.

Dirty diaper: Use diffrent types of chocolate candies like hershey bars, snickers, resees cups, tootsie rolls, melt them down spread them in a diaper and the guest have to smell the diaper to guess what type of candy it is. You could do it with baby food like peas and carrots but the candy bars is more fun and you have left overs for the mom to be to eat! Remember not to use scented diapers... it throws off the scent of the candy.

Safety pin search. Get a big bowl of rice and throw in some safety pins. Mix them up really well. Blind fold the guest one at a time. They have to dig through the rice to find the safety pins.... those little buggers are hard to feel in the rice. It is pretty funny to watch but it can get kinda messy.

Penny for your thoughts. Have only 2 pennies for each year. For every guest you have invited have a penny for when they walk through the door. The matching date penny goes into a cup for mom. Throughout the shower at any time she can draw a penny out of her cup. and the person with the matching date has to tell a funny story about the mom.... if they don't have a funny story then they could just say something nice about her.

Bottle racing. Fill 4 oz bottles up with water or some other drink and have the guest race drinking the bottle. It is freaking hilarious seeing grown women drinking from a bottle.

If she hasn't had the baby yet: -someone walks around with a toilet paper roll, everyone pulls off however many squares they think is enough to go around the belly, the closest person wins!!
Freeze diaper pins, miniature pacifiers, tiny plastic babies, or similar items in ice cube trays. Give each guest an ice cube in a glass of water or other drink. The first person whose ice has melted so that the frozen item floats freely in the glass shouts, "My water broke!" and wins the game.
Don't Say "Baby"
Give every guest a clothespin to attach to her clothing and wear during the shower. Tell everyone not to say the word "baby" for the rest of the shower. If someone hears another guest say the forbidden word (and it's hard not to say it!), she gets to take the other guest's clothespin(s). The winner? Whoever has the most clothespins at the end of the shower.

Have Fun! I know I had a blast with mine!!

One that I love is...

Put a bunch of baby items on a tray of somesort that is portable. Small ones like 1 bottle a pacifier a nipple rattle rubber duck bib hangers toys nail clipper butt cream travel size shampoos and lotions safty things socks and so on. I like to cover it with a receiving blanket. Bring the try out and give everyone a min to look at it. then cover it back up and take it out of the room. Then give everyone about 1 or 2 to write down everything they can remember on the tray. Include the blanket as an item It gets them every time. Then after the game give all of the items to the mom to be for the baby.

Take an ice cube tray and but those plastic babies you can by at Wal Mart in the craft section in them and fill it up with water. Then give each guest an ice-cube with a baby in it and put it in a cup the first person who's ice-cube melt shouts "my water broke!" I thought that was cute. Or there are allot of great ideas at www.babycenter.com Good Luck! ; )

Also I all most forgot if you buy a journal and pass it around for every one to write advice in for the mom to be.

The New Parents Game
Before the shower, ask the mom- and dad-to-be questions such as, "When is your birthday?" "Where were you born?" Divide the guests into tow teams, the "pink" team and the "blue" team. Pink team answers questions about the mm, blue answers questions about the dad. Correct answer earns 1 point. The team with the most points wins.
------------------------------...
Word Play
The mom-to-be will soon have old parenting adages like "Because I said so!" rolling off her tongue. Come up with a list of other sayings and make them into acronyms (for example MDGOT! {Money Doesn't Grow On Trees!}). Quickest answerer gets a point, most point wins (or alternate scoring, everyone writes down guesses and most right at the end wins).
------------------------------...
What's in the Bag?
Place several baby-related items (for example, bottle, rattle, pacifier) into separate brown paper bags. Staple the bags closed and number them. Players may shake, but not squeeze, the bags to determine what's inside. The player who gets the most right wins.
------------------------------...
Rock-a-Baby
Divide guests into teams and challenge each team to write new lyrics to the tune of a familiar lullaby. Provide each team with a tape recorder or CD player, pen, and paper. When finished creating new lyrics, each team performs its song for the mom-to-be. Award prizes for the funniest lyrics, the best performance, and so on.

At my baby showers we wrote "baby shower" at the top of a piece of paper and had 5 minutes to see how many other words we could make using those letters. the person with the most words won a prize. Also, I loved taking the bows and ribbons off of presents at my sister's shower to make a stupid looking hat for her to wear(attached them to a paper plate) and then made her pose while wearing it....

Bingo. There's two versions: gift bingo and baby bag bingo.

Gift bingo: everyone gets a blank card and they have to fill in the spaces with gift ideas that they think the new mom will get. You "call" the gifts as mom unwraps them and everyone marks off the ones they have.

Baby bag bingo: guests get a blank card and fill in with items that go in a baby's diaper bag. Perhaps your gift to her is a diaper bag, so put some stuff in it and as you unload it, you "call the numbers", so to speak.

Name that baby: make a collage of some famous babies (like Gwen Stefani's son Kingston, Suri Cruise, Gwyeth Paltrow's kids, maybe some actors/actresses who are adults now as kids, etc.) and everyone has to guess who the kid is and there's bonus points for naming mom & dad.
