It's not working...

I have had this conversation until I am blue in the face... Anti-Abortion is not about controling a woman's body, it is about protecting the life of another being (and I am not even saying Human being here, just a living being).

Yet, always the same response from the pro-choice crowd about people trying to control a woman's body.

Oh well, ignorance must be bliss.

I've had my mothering challenged, because I inform my child of stuff instead of letting him learn it on the bus or from his school's "sex-ed" program.

The same people who lambaste me for teaching my child about sex and its consequences are the same ones who say parents don't do the job and the state must.

They are not purposefully obstinate, they are blind as bats. Don't mess with the sanctity of a woman's body, but give the government the right to own the children.

Is it just me, or is it ironic that the overwhelming majority of "pro-lifers" are also "pro death penalty?"

Odd.

Anyway, this is about abortion, right?

For me, being male, this is an odd subject but its one I have an opinion on.

I feel that no one, anywhere, at any time, likes abortions. There's nothing nice about it.

The ISSUE here is keeping it legal and safe for the women who are going to want them. There will always be women who wish to abort their own pregnancies for whatever reason, and nothing is going to stop them.

If abortions are not legal or safe, then women will have illegal, unsafe abortions.

I think that's where so many pro-lifers miss the boat. It's not a matter of whether or not these women will have abortions. They will- that's something history is pretty clear about.

As long as women have been getting pregnant, they've also been seeking abortions. In ancient times all the way until today, women have been getting abortions. Do a little research- you'll find it's true.

So, would you prefer then that these women get their abortions legally and safely, or illegally and unsafely? That is the true question.

The issue is not whether women will seek out abortions. No amount of pro-life propaganda is going to change that. Making abortion illegal will not stop it from happening.

I feel keeping it legal and safe is the only right thing to do.

You must understand that when you win the argument with liberal minded people they will never admit defeat. Look at all the spins and twists and turns and half truthes you are getting in the responses. There really is no defense for aborting babies.

Pro abortion people don't even like to call themselves that. The hide behind the word "choice". That sanitizes it enough so they don't have to think about it. Most have never seen an abortion. Most have never had an abortion. Most don't even know how an abortion is performed. Most have no idea how many women are pressured into getting abortions. Most have no idea how many women regret having had an abortion. Most don't know that the abortion industry is in serious trouble because they cannot get enough nurses or doctors willing to perform them. They have no idea that many former abortion clinic workers quit and join the pro-life side.

They don't know because they don't want to know. Hell, I have even argued with solid pro-abortion people that thought abortion was only legal in the first trimester.

I think whether or not we allow abortions and what the limitations are should be decided by the voters. However, anyone who wished to cast a vote should be made to watch a video of actual abortions at various different stages of fetal development up to and including partial birth abortions. Then at least they will know what they are voting for. It isn't a nice clean word like "choice". It is an ugly, brutal act of savagery performed on the most innocent people in the world, the unborn.

Pro choice people aren't purposely obstinate. You won't change what they believe or not. If they believe its ok to murder an unborn child you or anybody else cannot change that.
Anti-abortionists need to lay off some, physical violence & shooting at clinics, doctors etc. doesn't help the situation any & not all of the people get pregnant of they're own free will.
I don't believe in abortion, but in the case of rape or abuse then that mother shouldn't have to carry the emotional burden & trauma as well as a lifetime reminder of what happened.
Treat all people as you would have them treat you & speak only with a soft voice.
We all stand before the throne some-day, Let God be the Judge, not us

Yes, ignorance is bliss... as YOU well know. What is it with folks like you that must go around telling others how to conduct THEIR lives? You probably sit on your rump telling others what to do, to enlist and go KILL some other humans designated as "the enemy" for no other reason than the fact that they have different beliefs from you... like not having their lands raped, lands contaminated and depleted of oil and then abandoned.

This argument can easily be ended: if YOU don't believe in abortions, don't have one! OR, offer to adopt the unborn and sign a legal, notarized statement that you will support the child and clothe the child and pay for the upkeep and housing and education...! OR MIND YOUR BUSINESS!

IF you really had any testicular fortitude (or if you have any testicles) you'd be fighting to ensure safer means of contraception. What is there right now? Condoms, the coil, diaphragm, and pills or injections... condoms prevent STDs while the others don't; condoms are also the cheapest (and sometimes free) and have no secondary effects... but some of US men are either too inconsiderate or too lazy or uncaring to wear a condom that takes a few seconds to put on... why are the women the ones responsible for risking secondary effects and the responsibility of taking contraceptive measures and also the ones that usually raises the unwanted child by herself... since most men will avoid their responsibilities (making our taxes go up so Welfare can support the child... in an unwanted environment... poverty, poor home environment, poor education and increased percentages of getting involved in crimes)?

WHY don't you promote safer contraception methods instead? Well, what would you know... you probably make love to your hand and spill your sperm in the toilet or down the shower drain!

Until such time as it is YOU who has to deal with the pregnancy, carrying the unborn, elevated blood pressure, stretch marks, retching due to morning sickness, nausea, swollen ankles, uncontrolled mood swings due to hormonal changes, hemorrhoids, and birthing pains... and the after-effects of having given birth... you really have nothing to contribute so if you're gone blue in the face, consider going Navy Blue or purple... (maybe a nice shade of pink suits you?)

Of course, YOU probably think that only those that can afford to go to another country should be the ones to have abortions in comfortable, fully equipped sterile clinics with bone fide medical personnel, right? And you think that the poor should be the ones to have metal clothes hangers inserted into their vaginas as a means to induce a spontaneous abortion in some dirty back room of a butcher?

I think that you should keep your unsolicited opinion to yourself... when you have a vagina and a working reproductive system, then you can comment. I am a 100% male, with a healthy sexual appetite (some ladies think I'm overly graced) and I have one child... I would NEVER put another woman through that again! I love my daughter and it was HER decision to have two children (good for her) but I would not have commented on her decision to do otherwise... it is HER body, not her husband's or anyone else's body... HER body. Respect the law, whimpy! OR, do you just think that a woman's ONLY role in life is to be a baby factory and be serving the likes of you in the kitchen? Get a life!

No! Personally I don't accept the posit of an individual as long as the embryo is attached to the mother. My standpoint is the first natural breath determines birth as a living being. I don't recognize the fetus as a separate living being. Secondly, I do believe there are worse things than not being born. I do agree that at times little thought is given to sex and prevention/contraception/abstinence, are far better alternatives than abortion, but the judgment shouldn't be upon anyone but the decisive host.

i don't believe in abortion, but the fact is that it is here in our society and we must deal with it. i think its a non-issue and shouldn't be any of the governments business, which by default makes me pro-choice.
to take my position further, if Roe v. Wade was reversed, the result would be back alley abortionists, women going out of the country to have an abortion, and many more unwanted children born to possibly unfit parents.
so maybe society is better off. or not, that child could be adopted and nurtured into a great human being. everyone deserves a shot at life.

I am a 20 year old, full-time student, 2 part-time job having, pro-choice MOMMY! Do you also believe that the government should stop funding welfare??? Honestly, your beliefs are what they are. Nobody can tell you how to feel. I can say this, yes, a lot of females, young and old, act foolishly, have unprotected sex, and then realize that they're not ready for that type of responsibitly and abort. But what about the people that you KNOW shouldn't have children? The 15 year old girl who lives with her grandmother, the 20 year old college student. The choice should be theirs. I'd rather there be a choice of abortion for those who are not ready for to rear children, than have a bunch of unfit parents running around. Those are the people you hear about on the news:they beat their children to stop them from crying, they killed their child because they didn't want the responsibilty.

I think it is either all or nothing, but even the strictest states have an exception for rape or incest or danger to the mother.

If you consider abortion a murder then above are murders . Where do you stop in this case? I would never consider to stop a woman in these cases. Also, it is not my choice - it is woman's. You can do what you want, but do not force it on others. If you consider a human being since inception, then why do not we give the tax exemptions, health care for the pregnant women etc.

Your believes are too simplistic and intrusive.

If you wish to use the terms "obstinate" or "ignorance", perhaps you should check first to see which side of the argument they may most apply to.

The Anti-choice mob is unbeatable in both ignorance and obstinacy.

The whole abortion mess is about nothing more than conservative "Christians" attempting to force their religious views on the rest of us.

Not everybody believes that life begins at conception.

If you are against abortion, don't have one.

What is there not to understand that they feel as strongly about their stand as you do about theirs? I'm sure they say ignorance must be bliss about you folks as well. Are you going to be swayed by their arguments? No? Well, the same is true in reverse. So are you being purposely obstinate? Of course not, you believe in your stand. So do they. I guess you're just going to have to deal with the fact that the majority of Americans are pro-choice. That's not going to change.
