Sure, if you guys need the money and your husband's OK with it. A ring's just a ring- if you two have a strong bond and a loving relationship, missing a ring from your finger isn't going to change anything. You can always buy a new one when you're doing better. If you need the money that bad, go for it. You're more likely to split up if you're having money troubles, they say, so it's probably better to hock the ring and keep the marriage intact.

Are things that rough that you will take off your ring and hock it? If it is for something that is really not a need and your doing it - that is wrong. It has to be really, really dire with no sunshine in order for you take off your ring and hock it - what does your husband say about it?

Sure, but that's a one-time profit. Better you should hock your spouse. If s/he is at all attractive, you can pimp him or her out for a more steady source of income. And I rely on the Bible for this suggestion: "Give a man a fish and he eats for one day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime." So you see, by putting your spouse on the street in hot pants you not only get to keep the bling, you earn the favor of Christ and His Apostles.

You'll regret it. No matter how bad money problems are you don't want to risk losing something that sentimental and precious.
If it's the marriage that's bad, consider hocking your husband instead and keep the ring.

Why would you even ask this? What are the circumstances that you would have to hawk this important & sentimentally valued object? I would only hawk it if you are planning to divorce and want no part of the other person. And of course you would have to ask yourself if the ring or money would make you feel better. You may want to keep the ring for any child that may want it later down the road

What does your spouse think about that? Why do you need to hock it? IF you have an emergency go to one of those payday places.

What do you need the money for? A real need or something you just want and don't want to wait for? Or, are you separated and going through a divorce? Perhaps you're just bored and wanted to ask a generic question?

No way- you never know how things will work out. You won't get jack for it anyway. Better to save it and trade it in at the jeweler at some point.

I need more details, I do not understand why you would want to do this, unless you are really unhappy in your marriage, or something else, but in order for us to help you, we need more details.
Thanks.
