Would you quit your job immediately or give 2 weeks notice?

Personally - I would not give 2 weeks notice.

Or perhaps you wouldn't quite your job at all.....

I love my job. I am parttime variable so nothing is set. I pick my own hours. How many hours I want to work is up to me, as long as I get it done by the end of the contract. I have days off whenever I want and don't have to explain it to anyone. So yeah I'd keep my job. Enough money to live on for the rest of my life isn't really enough to bask luxuriously for the rest of my life. I'd invest most of it, up my standard of living a lil--but not outrageously. Go through the entire book of 1000 places to see before you die. But I'd keep my job. I like it. I'd love to be Samatha Brown and get paid to travel the world and stay in great hotels--but as that position seems to already be filled, I'll stick with my job.

However--if i wasn't in my dream job--say I wanted to be an artist...then I'd quit and follow my passion. That way even if I never made it as an artist, I'd still have enough to live on. I'd pick to do what I love.

Right now I'm not doing my dream job, so I'd probably give two weeks notice and try pursuing what I actually want to do. Working isn't so bad when you love what you do.

I wouldn't give notice since your time would cease to be productive. Jealous coworkers would despise you for your good luck and would seethe when you drove to work in your new car. No one would expect you to complete a task in that span of time. All you could do is wrap up your assignments and get them passed on.
