I keep it on all day, everyday. It really doesn't use a lot of electricity.
It's always a good idea to restart your computer at least once a day though to clear the memory. If you left it on for a long period of time without restarting it you would notice a performance decrease.
It will NOT hurt your computer to leave it on all day. It causes absolutely no harm.

I am always on mine and I do turn it off when I go sleep so about 10-14 hours per day. Never good to leave pc on 24/7

I keep it on through-out the day and turn it off about 11:00pm when I've done my final e-mail check.

Mine is on 24/7, only time I turn it off is to fix it or I have to restart it.
