You have children having babies at 13, 14 years old, you have 11 year old crack addicts, you have 15 year old alchoholics. It is all so sad and dissapointing but who's fault do you think it is?

Okay so most of you are saying it is the parents fault, what message do you have for parents that can create a change in our youth, what would you suggest they do?

There was a TV ad out a few years back, it said "do you know were yours kids are?"
I think with two parents working, or single parents it has been difficult, but the problem starts at home with your moral issues.
Second part:Be a good example, enforce the rules in your home, learn to say "I don't care what the rest of the school is doing, or what your friends have, MY answer is no"
So many parents are afraid to say no to the child, even fear that the child won't love him or her. When in fact they crave discipline and need boundaries and restrictions.

Parents are to blame.
The media and forums such as Y/A don't help, but ultimately it's the parents responsibility to protect and take care of their children.

i think it is both the parents and the media. some parents just do not care about their children at all. the media just points out the negative things which is a shame. that is why i think it is both. good luck.

It all ultimately rests on the shoulders of the parents. They determine what happens to their children and when. When they can watch R movies, gore, get on the Internet, look at objectionable magazines, music videos, and these media middlemen DO influence our children...but it is in our grasp to control it...when it comes into contact with our children. It's the Parents...100%!!

The parents. Definetly!!! They are the ones who allow their children to act the way they do. Parents are WAY to easy on kids now. They give them EVERYTHING!! And then they don't learn how to earn or work for anything. Kids with computers in their rooms and cell phones... It's rediculous.... Too many kids are spoiled and too many "parents" are not responsible enough to even HAVE children!!!

It's the parents fault, most are so self involved the children pretty much raise themselves.

The government for telling us how to discipline our children, the media for influencing the children and the parents for being scared of whooping their kids azzes when it's due.

I don't think these are new situations. Throughout history you could find examples of those situations.
It is sad and disappointing but not new...
Education is key in preventing those types of situations. Children cannot help the environment they are born into but we can try to teach them the correct things to do.

well it's both because the media advertises it and it's the parents choice if they let them do those things. personally i'm with you. it's very sad how many teens are pregnant or drinking and doing drugs.
