Because the majority if people in our country celebrate the Christian holiday of Easter. I wouldn't expect public places to be closed Easter Sunday in Lebanon....

1. Because it's not a regular Sunday. It's a more special religous holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus for Christians.

2. Because it's also considered a traditional family holiday like Thanksgiving and many families travel to visit each other and have a special dinner.

Because the employees are given a holiday to celebrate their faith. Although we are not all Christian the librarians are civil servants and are provided with certain holidays throughout the year some include faith based holidays to celebrate with their families.
