I am a Pirate fan but it is too early to say who will be in the post -season but it is nice to see Pittsburgh get off to this 2-0 start. I believe they will be a better team than last year but for post season I believe they are a year or two away before they will challenge for the world Series. They still need a little more growth with some of their players and then I believe they will be a contender.

The Pirates have a promising set of young pitchers in their rotation, and some up-and-comers in their lineup, and having Jason Bay and Adam LaRoche definitely helps...
But they're probably still 2 players away from competing for th world series. And those two players are probably Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell.
I wouldn't get discouraged by 2007. If you guys keep this group of youngsters together, you can probably really compete as early as 2009 with a little help from outside the organization.

"a great 2-0 start to the season...seem to been on their way to the post-season and maybe even a world series..."
Are you serious? 2-0 with 160 games left in the season and you're already saying they are on their way to a World Series. What have you been smoking?

Absolutely not... they are off to a 2-0 start...BUT...let's not start counting all our chickens before they hatch... They were able to take advantage of a problematic bullpen and an offense that hasn't gotten rolling yet in the Astros... BUT, to say they win the World Series is a bit much at this point... Check back again around September...

Well with only 160 games to go, it looks pretty good.
Are you insane? You can't judge a baseball season by 2 games. And the Pirates do not seem to have what it takes to make the playoffs talent wise.

u have got 2 be kidding me right??!! srry 2 break it 2 you, but the pirates r not gonna win the world series. but there is still hope for next year because the team is young and has a little talent particularly in terms of its pitching. but they still continue to follow a strategy of signing low-cost veterans as opposed to developing younger talent.

Definitely not. Jason Bay is one of the game's fine young stars, but the Pirates need more talent around him to be a good team.
