I'm 5ft 7 and love buying and looking at high heeled shoes (3inches +) however, i just feel too tall in them once got them on, and they usualy end up at the back of my wardrme never worn. Im just wondering do other women my sort of height have this problem? I do have short friends and i think that maybe the case, plus my bf is only 5ft10, and with heels i just feel so manly in height, but so femine with heels on! He also says that heels are for shorter people.. meaning not me :(

its not a matter of being too tall. it's a matter of having the confidence.

I am 5ft 7 as well and I own no shoes with a shorter heel height than 3 inches. I have gotten so used to them that I don't leave the house with out heels. I guess I am the opposite, I'm self conscience without heels. My husband is 5 ft 11 and he doesn't mind. I think maybe it's your boyfriends hang up and not yours.

Sounds like he is the one with the confidence problem if he thinks heels aren't for you! I personally have had this issue run through my head SO MANY TIMES!!! I'm almost 5'8", my boyfriend is 5'8". Every now and then it gets to me, all tall girls love to look up at their man! But if you have the RIGHT man, he'll make you feel so comfotable. Mine LOVES it when I wear heels. He thinks its sexy, which it is! I admit sometimes I still feel too tall, like a monster hovering over everyone. So I stick to wearing heels only when I'm feeling 100% that day, a good mirror day so to speak. When you're tall, it's not always easy to pick shoes, so just wear them when you know you are on top of the world!

consider this.."model status". im 5'7 also and i do have many short friends. i had the fear of being way taller and feeling awkward. but you have to get past what others will think. i read in seventeen magazine the other day. that shorter people should stick to wearing flats to embrace their height because it shows there figure better instead of looking like some short person with some talllllllllllllll heels yanno. and they said that tall people should wear heels whenever because it gives you a slimmer tall look while showing off your long beautiful legs. if you love wearing heels DO IT! dont let others make you feel like you shouldnt. GET THOSE HEELS OUT OF THE CLOSET AND ENJOY THEM!

Im 5'8 and I love heels. I feel it gives you a sense of confidence and power. If you watch the millionaire match maker, you've probably seen when she (Patty) talks about how much men like women in heels, its sexy and displays a sense of power. Men love women who are confident in themselves. Some studies and surveys show that men prefer women who wear heels. Not to make this about men, but the truth is..they like it. You're not too tall for heels at all and embrace you're height. Think of all those supermodels...5'9 and above trumping runways in Balenciaga and Louboutin heels. SEXY! you can wear high heeled shoes!! 5'7 is not that tall that you cant wear heels. maybe your boyfriend tells you that because he wants to seem more manly when he is walking around with you in 3 in + heels and he wants to feel better about himself. if i were you i would still wear heels, but buy the thinner ones that are like 2 in. so that they look femine and have the look that you love but the height isnt as tall.

There's no such thing as too tall for heels but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable.
If it doesn't feel right for you to wear heels then don't. I'm 5'8" and although I do own heels I rarely wear them as I don't tend to feel comfortable in them, but that's down to my personal style rather than my height!
Wear what you like. There are no rules.

My mom and I are both 5ft 10in & we love heels! I admit that at first it was really awkward. In the end though wearing heels made me apperciate my height even more. If I'm 3in taller than you and I can wear heels, believe me you can too. Also I noticed that my clothes sometimes look better on me when I wear heels. Clothes often look better on tall people, why do you think models are always tall?

Lots of guys find tall women attractive - it makes you stand out in a crowd.

Maybe that's what your boyfriend is worried about.

Don't feel manly with heels on; I'm only 5'2 and I can't walk in heels! I'm jealous of you, girl! Heels look great on a woman of your height.

In my opinion, you need to wear your heels.... and get a boyfriend who isn't such a pathetic wimp that he feels threatened by how good you look. Whilst you're at it, get a taller boyfriend ;-)

you can never be too tall for heels. I used to live in Rotterdam and believe me Dutch women can be very tall, and it doesn't stop them wearing heels, and why should it. The important thing is to feel good in them, feel confident and avoid looking hunched over because you're conscious of being tall in your heels. Enjoy!

I'm 5'7 and I wear heels everyday!! I love them. They make me feel so girly. Now, I will say that my husband is also 5'7, so when I wear heels, he is shorter than me. For some people, they think that thats a bad thing, but it doesn't bother me at all. I have two things I love, my husband and my heels. Do what feels right for you.,....don't let others influence your style!!
