My favorite song by R.E.M. is "Everybody Hurts." I think that song explains all the pain we feel when we hurt off of just emotional things that happen in the world. Crime, poverty, and war. That song is a great backdrop to such things as the Gulf War in '90, Hurricane Andrew in '92, the WTC bombings in '94, the OKC bombings in '95, the 9/11 attacks in 2001, and Hurricane Katrina in '05. When you put this song on and watch all the pain that these certain individuals had to go through, you can't help but feel for them and wish you could do something to help them better their situation.

End of the World as We Know It. That song still rocks after all these years. I wonder what ever happened to the kid in the video.
