Deuce McAllister is the starter for the New Orleans Saints. He was in the top 4 running backs in the league for like 3 years in a row. Please, people i'm a saints fan, and have been one. I hate all these people who say Reggie Bush is going to take ovevr th NFL. I love reggie, he's on my team. He makes good athletic plays sometimes. But, just pleasee people, recognize Deuce.

Deuce is the thunder to Bush's lightening. Reggie Bush cannot be a every down, between the tackles back. That's not his style. Because of Deuce McAllister, Bush is able to put up good numbers off of tosses and screens. If you're talking about a between the tackles runner, Deuce McAllister is one of the elite backs in the NFL. One reason he doesn't get half the recognition he deserves is because he has been injured the past couple of years. Expect him to continue to put up good numbers as long as he stays healthy, even while splitting carries with Bush.

I agree without Duce Reggie would have been nothing last year. Hes not any every down back or even close yet. Yes, he has break away speed and great agility but duce gets those tough yards like on third and 1. I dont think Bush will ever back a good every down back he will always need to split carries with a power runner.I just cant see him making a third a two run up the middle. However.... Bush also makes Duce better because he gets his rest and when they use split backs the focus will be on Bush not Duce. They work nicely together but the more productive and more consistent (when healthy) is Duce hands down.

i think you are taking a statement made by people about the future and acting as if it applies today...you say that everyone is saying about how bush WILL BECOME dominant(notice that "will" makes it the future tense), nobody said anything about his dominance today or even this year or next...people are saying that he will eventually be a dominant player, and i certainly agree with them, because he is one of the most athletic running backs to come across the league in a long time and has just about all the tools for greatness
also, i'm not saying that deuce plays a secondary role to reggie because he doesn't, but i'm trying to prove the other point

I know everyone is saying Reggie Bush will be the best half back ever. When Deuce is being forgotten. Reggie Bush is good but everyone is forgetting the guy who leads the team in rushing year after year after. It annoys me tremendously.

Every coach someday is going to realize that they always need two starting backs in the backfield.
Reggie is maybe now "the greatest show on turf" but Deuce is still the work horse.

His teammates realize what he means to the team. Reggie needs to bulk up a bit. I don't want to see him lose his quickness, but he's not big enough to do what Duece does, or for that matter, any of the good backs in the league. He needs to get stronger.

i think ppl forget about him because he is always injured. i know he is a great RB but having bush is probably good for him, so that he doesnt have to take every carry and teams wont focus on him as much, thus preventing future injuries. but yes i do recognize and remember deuce.
