as members of the armed forces they would be contractually prohibited from speaking to the press and face a court marshall for doing so. This is military law. All those people who think that Britain is a democracy and there is free speech need to familiarise themselves with reality!

That is a very good question. Who knows right what really took place, but I did hear that they would talk more about the disputed waterways in which the incident took place. Personally I think that is up to Iran and Iraq which went to war in 75 over sea there.
I am just glad they are going back to their homes and families so the neocons and the end of world people can't use the incident to nuke a country that they want to do so bad. In terms of the the sailors speaking, I think they will speak in England, but it will be controlled and they will told what to say and how to say, b/c they are still a part of the military. Now when they duty is over they make speak the truth. If they were here in America they would be rich, b/c someone would make and movie and they would write a book and be all over the tv.
I am a true believer in diplomacy and clearly it worked here and also I am glad they did not get tortured as many others in the world have due to this administration in white house.
Peace

I feel like Tony Blair will allow them to speak. If it goes along with the plight of keeping the pressure on Iran. I'd love to have them, "off the clock" sort of speak. I'm not sure we'll be able to have that much info. Most of what we will get. Will get scripted and well rehearsed.

I believe with the power and freedom of press britan sailors would be interviewed once freed. And the way Iranian president behaved, before extending pardon, by rewarding his soldiers who captured the sailors...the incident has become interesting and a major concern of the masses

Why wouldn't they? The brits are a free country and have free speech - the books rights will bring those sailors some good money.
Finally a rhetoric free question.

Depends on if making a statement impacts the secrurity and safety of the forces remaining in the area. Your "right" to know takes a back seat to these issues.

No, I don't think they should go public with that. I think they would be risking their lives if they "spill the beans" to the public. I think there are just certain things that happen in this world that are better left quiet. We don't need to know everything that goes on with everyone. Anyways, all it will do is cause more negative opinions and hatred. You know damn well if we caught foreigners in our waters, we'd probably do the same thing to them.

Yes, I do think they will be able to speak freely. Britain, like the US, had more tendencies toward free speech than censorship.

Yes, but I think that they are going to be briefed on what to say so as not to alarm and 'cause a ruckus just yet. Unless they want to cause one that is.
You can also wait for one of them or their family members to write a book about it.

I'm sure they will be allowed to speak. I am also certain that if they speak badly of Iran our main stream media will spin it in a way to promote their agenda...... Headlines: Brits spit in the face of Iran after goodwill gesture of amnesty and pardon.
