I agree with you that Italian football is in crisis now. Well, it's very sad to see a league that was superior 10 years ago, now is left by fans. It's very sad also to see the World Cup Champions have to struggle very hard to qualify for Euro 2008. However, it's no surprise recalling what some Italians have done in the past. Bribery, match-fixing scandals, also extremism and violence commited by some narrow-minded people, have lead Italian football to its fate. This downward spiral is just the result of practices of improper conduct for years.
However, it's a good start for Italian football. It's time for them to wake up and rebuild their identity and reputation in international football. This is the time for youngsters to show their talents, after they had been outperformed by foreign talents from all over the world before. Hopefully, this will bring good effects on Italy national team. I wish they can win some more international titles within the next 10 years.

lol... italian football... what a joke... i still can't believe italy won the world cup... mostly by extraordinary luck - penalty kick awarded for nothing in the closing minutes of the match against Australia (and that terrible francesco totti actually making the kick)... defensive breakdown by the Germans right before a shootout... France's Terzegut hitting the bar on a PK after Zidane getting ejected earlier... it is almost as if england had won the world cup... Kaka should leave Serie A and follow Beckham to America.

They dive too much. After the scandal and World Cup, Italian football has been looked at differently by the common man and the great football afficiandos. When we heard of cheating news and saw all the crookedness in the World Cup it seems Italian soccer is go downhill. I still think Italian football is world class and top quality, but just not like it use to.

Ok Italy is a good team and their Italian teams are ok. They are involved in way too many scandals. Their is gambling and cheating going on all around those players. Its starting to get more about money than about soccer in Italy. They are also little dramatic queens who think that if they get kicked they can roll on the ground like they just got shot. If Italy hadn't taken a dive, then Australia could have gotten farther in WC '07. I feel bad for Ronaldo who is now on A.C. Milan. I hope he doesn't get caught in the Italian football style and he should continue to play like he. always has

Because Spain will forever be the best in Football and all other leagues are childrens compared to it!! J/k on a seriuos note thier are were to many scandals in italy this year not only did it affect the league but also the national team. which is good for me since i cant stand the italian national team especially cheatarazzi.
