If you want to go to medical school, then you are right to think about going to one of the best colleges in the US. The best schools for premed are also the best schools in general. You can get a list of the best schools from lots of sources. US News ranks them every year. See the link below.

Your first step is to make sure that you are good enough to get into one of the Ivy League schools. In general, you will need to graduate near the top of your high school class, get about 2200/2400 on your SATs, be active in extracurricular activities, write a killer essay, and have a great interview. One thing you have to realize is that even if you are well qualified, you still may not get in.

I addition to the Ivies, there are also the "Ivy Equivalents" like Duke, Northwestern, Stanford, Chicago, MIT, Cal Tech, Emory and Rice. There are great Liberal Arts colleges like Swarthmore, Amherst, WIlliams, Haverford and Carlton. There are great State universities like Berkeley, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Michigan and UNC. Then there are the better Catholic Universities like Notre Dame, Georgetown and Boston College. Also good are the better regional univesities like Villanova and Trinity (TX).

As for which Ivy League college you want -- you should visit the schools and see what you want. If you want an urban environment -- then Penn or Columbia is good. If you want a suburban setting where the stores across the street sell wedgewood vases and Waterford crystal instead of sweatshirts with the college name on it -- then Princeton is for you. If you want to be at a beautiful campus in the middle of nowhere -- then there are Dartmouth or Cornell. If you want to live in a town where no one else in the world wants to be -- then there are Brown and Yale.

If I could go to any university in the country -- it would be Duke. Oh -- wait -- it is one of the schools I went to!

Are the Ivies a reasonable expectation for you? Many people who don't know much about colleges think they want to go to the Ivies, but that may not be the best choice, or even a possibility, for most? All of the Ivy League schools are excellent schools, but you say you don't want to go to Harvard, which is one of the best. Why? Cornell might be best for learning, since there are fewer distractions there than at the other schools, but that doesn't make it the strongest of the schools. If in the end you still want to go to an Ivy League school, since they are so hard to get into you probably want to apply to as many as possible to increase your chances.

convinced there some colleges in which you are able to take those sorts of instructions, yet they're usually the community college ones. 4 12 months college ones require a form, probably money to adhere to, and essays. I had taken a cake adorning class once at a community college. And convinced, I did meet my better 0.5 at school. It became our freshman 12 months at Michigan State college. we are meant for the different!
