went through the same thing. Its tough to see them in that condition. I wish I could snap my fingers and make it go away. Do not give her OTC medications. she is tooo young and studies prove it is not effective. They are a waste of money. Kids having cold is just a fact of life. They will catch on average 12 per year. If she does not have a fever then maybe the dr. can sugges something. Here is what I reccomend you can give her:
1. Love
2. Kisses
3. Hugs
4. I'm sorry you are not feeling well
5. Buy a humidier
6. Vicks vaporizer
7. Stay in steamy room for 15 minutes. Use this time to feed.
8. Suction bulb and some saline drops for her nose
9. Breast milk if you are breast feeding.

Doctors advise against giving babies any kind of cold medicines, although I have to admit I gave my baby cold medicines many times even at that age. She was always, always sick and congested so badly that she couldn't breastfeed, because she couldn't breathe through her nose. The BEST nasal decongestant I found is called "Little Noses" and it's a nasal spray. It's in the baby food/medicines/diaper aisle. It even works on me!
If she is not that congested, and you're just worried about her not feeling good, an infant dose of Tylenol will help her feel better.
They say nothing really works on a cough, and I've found that to be true.

My pediatrician recommended the Vick's vapor plug in. They have them at most stores. My little one is sick too and hates to have his nose cleaned out. The 1st morning after having the plug in all night, his nose was clear. At least it helped him breath for a little while why he slept.

babys just want to be loved and snuggled when they are sick...if you are a stay at home mom hold her and rock her and sing if not ask your care giver to do the same. if her nose is blocked there is a wonderful saline drop for babys called little noses you can get it in the med section of your local drug store. i advise aginst giving her any meds... she is juts a little baby and you do not know what that stuff could do to her. the vicks vaper plugin thing might help too...be careful
good luck and god bless

My doc suggested dimatapp or triammenic for kids (I know that's spelled wrong!). She said give 1/2 teaspoon for my girl who was 13 mos at the time. Check with your ped for proper dosage. If you give them a call, they will probably just tell you brand and dosage and not have you come in unless you're really concerned.
