Any P2P service is illegal if you are trading or downloading copyrighted material. Limewire is not illegal, it is just how you use it that is.
I don't understand how anyone can say that a site is legal. It is only legal if you pay for it, the music is so old it is in the public domain, or the artist is new and is giving it free to get it into circulation.

The website is doing nothing illegal, the users are. Most P2P type progs ask if you will use the software to infringe copyright which people have to say "no" to. Therfore it becomes hard to justify stopping the prog from being distributed. Knives aren't illegal to buy but stabbing someone certainly is. I don't understand how sites like kiddie porn are allowed. Far more worrying than big companies losing some money...

Limewire is illegal if you use it for free.In fact all p2p which are free are illegal as the music industries wont be making much cash if this is the case.
Well anyways if you type in any search engines p2p sharing a lot of music download service is available. Try Ares etc

It's not so much the service itself that is illegal but the use of the service to share copyrighted materials without permission of the copyright holders. There is certain to be some stuff on it that is both free and legal (i.e. the copyright holder has agreed for it to be there or it is public domain) but you might have trouble figuring out which is which. It also depends on your country because different countries have different copyright laws.

Limewire is legal as long as the content is legal. Content is the issue. The same is true with all peer to peer and sharing programs.
If you want access to free, legal music, try the 'Free Music' section of the forum at http://www.ilounge.com

I was browsing for music search engine and I found mykazaagold and I read about it and thought of giving it a try. Since I have downloaded the software I never stop downloading songs. I think you should give it a try go to http://www.mykazaagold.com and signup today it won’t cost much. It is just one time fee and you would never have to pay again. And above all it is 100% virus free and no adware or spyware threats also. Highly recommended.

It's illegal if you plan to re-sell the downloaded material. Otherwise it's totally legal, don't listen to those idiotic Reps repeating and repeating "It will give you viruses" cause I have been using it for over 2 years now and has never given me a problem.
