The trees themselves do not attract rain. When it rains though, the leaf canopy and branches direct water towards the dripline of the tree. The dripline being the outer perimeter of the canopy. The water will drip down within those limits and feed the roots of the tree.

Um...they don't.
If they are tall, they might attract lightning, though.
