A closed question is one that requires a "yes" or "no" answer ex: Did Billy hit you?
An open question is one that requires a more in depth answer ex: How did you feel when Billy hit you?
A leading question is when you hint at the answer you want when asking the question ex: Billy hit you, didn't he?
A rhetorical question - here's the real definition
A rhetorical question is one that requires no answer because the answer is obvious and doesn't need to be stated . The speaker (of the rhetorical question) is not looking for an answer but is making some kind of a point, as in an argument.
