I would wash with natural soaps, biodegradable & hypoallergenic avoid dyes & perfumes.
It sounds like your skin is irritated. The best way to make sure you don't have a yeast infection is to go see your doc for a check-up.
The acidic balance of the vagina can be changed by your period (menstruation), pregnancy, diabetes, some antibiotics, birth control pills and steroids. Moisture and irritation of the vagina also seem to encourage yeast to grow, as well as having sex with a new partner.

You cannot get a yeast infection from using a certain soap. A yeast infection is caused internally, not externally. A change in blood sugar levels, hormones, or use of antibiotics are the most common causes. If you only have tenderness or itching without discharge and you suspect that it's from a product that you used, it's probably just sensitivity or an allergic reaction. If, however, you have other symptoms of a yeast infection (discharge, itching that won't go away after a few days...) then get some of the OTC creams for treating a yeast infection or call your doctor to have him/her prescribe you Diflucan (It's just one pill that you take to get rid of the infection super fast). As far as your body wash, I recommend you don't use anything on that area that contains dyes or perfume.

First off using body wash in that area is not suggested. Also, because it red and itchy doesn't always mean yeast infection, it actually sounds like it is terribly irritated. Usually there is a discharge with yeast infections. Either way, it is best to use a wash cloth with nothing on it to cleanse the area down there. Or at the very least use a baby wipe. It sounds more like you are over washing and drying the area out!

some soaps can kill the good bacteria that keeps the bad bacteria(yeast) in check. What you should do is eat plenty of yogurt regularly as a preventative measure, and also either insert plain, unflavored yogurt directly into your vagina, or a tampon soaked in buttermilk. It may sound wird but both contain live cultures that will clear up a yeast infection. Also, another thing you don't usually hear is, yeast infections generally go away when you get your period, because the pH fluctuation is not a friendly environment for it.

You can get a yeast infection from anything!!! Don't wash your private area with anything that's perfumed or dyes. Use a mild soap without fragrances. Don't douche so much because that can dry you out as well. Make sure you treat your yeast infection with the medication, and take warm baths without any bubble bath, and wear cotton underwear, not thongs until it clears up.

Non-Flavored Yogurt w/out sugar!
Take a shower right before bedtime, and apply a little yogurt to your vagina. Do not sleep with any panties or anything on. I know it sounds crazy, but this really does work....TRY IT!
There are also some creams that you can purchase over the counter, but may cost a little more. Yogurt has always worked the best for me!

do not use perfumed washes in this area. go to your chemist and get a tube of cream for thrush, apply 2/3 times a day and you will soon feel better. if you are sexually active do not have unprotected sex while you are like this else your partner will also get thrush and you will need for him to get treatment also .
